are you talking about removing extra wax (like when you are applying+buffing) OR you want to strip the wax down and start over?

I don't know what the best way is, but I use Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss - 16 oz | Detailed Image for both regular wash as well as stripping for a full detail. it works great!

Old school method is to steal your wifes dish detergent and use that. You could also mix some isopropl alcohol and water in a spay bottle and spray and wipe down each panel.

Wash with something like the chemical guys citrus wash more concentrated than normal then clay bar the entire car. That should remove all the wax and any other contaminates that may be on the paint.

The CG Citrus Wash and Gloss is great if you use it concentrated. But even better an cheaper than that is to wash your car with whatever shampoo you use then use 70% isopropyl alcohol diluted 50/50 with water. Spray it on, wipe it off.

Dawn will dry out your black rubber and plastic and make it chalky and brittle over time if you use it regularly.
