Some advice please

Yesterday I washed and detailed my car. Today when I came out to look at it it looked like some insect died or took a crap on top of my hood. I thought no problem since I have a ventureshield installed. So I took some goo gone and then some rubbing alcohol and let it sit there for a minute then wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. After that I hit the spot up with a quick detailer. Only problem is it left a cloudy little smudge mark on where the insect was. Is there anything I can buy at the local auto supply store to fix this problem? It's kind of annoying to look at but I guess I should be thankful that its atleast on the clear bra and not that actual paint of the car.

PM "HTP Autoworks" if he does not post up. He seems to be the resident expert on clear bras.

Could the problem have been that you let it sit there instead of wiping it off immediately?

Well I try too all the time but its really not possible to get it off A.S.A.P. every single time. In this case I just got done driving my car, parked it infront of the house, and then when I came out like an hour to an hour and a half later it was already dried up on there. Didn't help also that it was like 93 degrees here.

Sorry, I meant that you left the goo gone and alcohol sit there for a while. However, when initially reading your post I thought you let the goo gone and alcohol sit there for more than a minute. Maybe the combination of the two things, goo gone and alcohol.

I think it might have been the combination of the goo gone and alcohol. I've only ever used goo gone and never had a problem. Then again I don't have a clear bra so it might be something in the material of the clear bra.

It's best to start with least aggresive methods first, next time try some quick detailer. As for the stain, is it where your goo gone and alcohol solution was or is it only where the insect was? If it's just where the insect is then it's probably an etching from the bug guts. My suggestion would be a gentle polish with a black pad at a slow speed. If you don't have any machine polisher, try scratch-x by hand.

Ya it was only where the bug was. And I'm pretty sure that the goo gone and alcohol didn't cause it, it's about the size of a dime, maybe little bit smaller.
