How to wash my car in winter?
How to wash my car in winter?
I'm sure you guys are going to rail me for these questions, but I just can't come up with any solutions...
I live in a rented apartment, and they purposely didn't install spigots on the outside of the buildings; they don't want us washing our cars in the parking lot. So I have no access to a hose with which to wash my car, besides, it's below freezing outside. Everyone on here is constantly saying that you shouldn't take your car to a carwash because they'll screw up the paint, but how else do you wash your car in the winter? For that matter, since I don't have a hose, how should I wash my car in the summer? I tried taking my own bucket and soap to the quarter carwash, but then people told me that the high pressure gun is bad for the paint.
Anyone have any suggestions?

You need one bucket and some micro fiber towels, but you will need to borrow a garage as it won't work outside in freezing temps. I washed my G in the garage and this stuff sounds silly, but is the most amazing product I have used in a long time. It is really innovative and you get incredible results. Several on this board swear by it.

Like Chi-Town noted, ONR is the only way to go.

Yeah man, I live in an underground condo and purchased the ONR and use a 2 bucket method to clean it with a sheepskin cloth and 2 MC clothes as per the suggestion of many ppl on this forum. Toronto weather is horrible and tons of snow this year so the car is freakin dirty A LOT and I hate looking at it when it's filthy. So trust me, I know how you feel. Be careful with how you clean it - considering the last thing you want to do is cause more swirls. But the ONR is a true beauty. Good luck!

+1 for using ONR. Just used it for the first time on Saturday in my garage when it was 35 outside but needed to clean the G. Incredible product. My friends couldn't believe you could wash your car without a hose and rinsing it off....I said "nay nay". A tip that I tried, spray the surface of the paint with ONR at Quick Detailer strength (see bottle for dilution directions) from a spray bottle which will act as a pre-soak to loosen dirt/grime. My results were perfect.......Hey George, think we can have an extended sale on ONR over at DI?!?

This will work as well. No need for buckets or water. Just microfiber cloths and ultraluster.
