How about these products?
Hey guys, I bought the following products last night and couldn't wait to personally clean the car myself. Last week, I purchased a Black 2009 G37x w/ winter tires (I live in Toronto) and I wanna keep this baby clean. I'd love to know whether you guys think I should continue using the products or not:
1) Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer (Mist Spray)
2) Orange Blast All Wheel Cleaner
3) Windex Auto Glass cleaner
I also bought a pack of 8 microfiber clothes as well. Since I live in a condo with indoor parking, there is no access to a hose. 2 more questions:
1) There is a sewer drain right next to my car so I'm wondering should I first clean the car with a bucket + sponge? If so, what cleaner should I put in the bucket? Or am I ok with just the Meguiar's detailer spray? I don't mind spending money on good products, as long as I know it'll work.
2) What leather cleaner product would any of you recommend for the interior?
Please bear in mind that I paid the dealership a bit extra to get paint protection on the car, so I wouldn't want to use any cleaners that are too abrasive and will cut through the protective layer. And I've already noticed lots of black swirls on the hood of the car so I'm not sure what to do
I would appreciate any other feedback or advice, since I'm married to my car

Congrats on the purchase.
I would invest in ONR, it's a great way to wash in condos/apartments.
The products you have are OK, but they're not great. You're going to need more to truly protect your car.
I would suggest look at Migliore: Original as a good wax for protection and depth.
We also offer Wheel Seal to protect your wheels and making cleaning them a breeze.
For the swirls you're going to need a machine polisher such as a PC, Flex, or Rotary. This is pretty serious detailing, I'm not sure how far you're looking to go. The only way to effectively remove swirls IMO is by machine with a polish.
It's critical to master your wash technique as those swirls are made from improper washing. Basically you're rubbing dirt across your paint when Quik Detailing or washing technique.
Here is a good video of proper washing technique. This can be referenced even when using ONR.

Wow, thank you for taking the time to write a prompt response! Since I live in Toronto, I don't think they sell ONR solution at any local places. Are there any other products that you would personally recommend aside from ONR that is locally available as a sponge & bucket cleaning solution good for condos?
Do you think I should take the car back to the dealership and complain about the swirl marks (since I bought the car 10 days ago) and ask them to give it a good buff & shine?
I'd rather not go through the hassle of buying a machine polisher since I won't realistically use it.
I looked at the video as well (thx for the link) and noticed that the guy was using a hose, which I won't be able to use since it's parked in the basement of the condo where a hose is not available. Based on what you're sharing with me, I should just use a sponge & bucket to clean the car of any dirt, and then use the mist spray, right? And as for the exterior window's, am I ok with the windex auto glass cleaner?
What's the best cleaner for the interior of the car? (keeping in mind that it's all leather).
Thx again for all your help

ONR is not available locally, you would have to buy it online through www.detailedimage.com.
You don't need a hose, just fill up the bucket at your condo and bring it outside. I would not recommend using just a bucket and microfiber with anything other than ONR.

SOLD! Ok, I'll give this product a shot and see how it works out. I've seen enough demo's online and it appears that it does work. Just one last thing though since I like picking your brain
1) Should I take the car back to the dealership & complain about the swirls?
Can I use the Meguiar's Ultimate Quik cleaner after I use the ONR, or should I just take 2) the product for a refund? I'm just trying to conclude whether ONR is enough or if I should use the Meguiar's afterwards for the ultimate shine?
3) What sort of interior cleaner should I use for the leather?
Much appreciated!

Hey Don, I'm at the detailed image's checkout section to purchase and it seems that they're charging me over $35 for shipping to Toronto, which is much more than I'm willing to pay for a couple small things. There's a spot for entering a coupon code, which would make it less expensive. Do you or anyone have a coupon code that I can apply here to get a discount?
Please? Many thanks!

I wouldn't return the QD, but I wouldn't use it after ONR. Remember like the video says, the least invasive method. The more you touch the paint, the more swirls you're going to incur. ONR will be perfectly fine with nothing afterwards.
I don't know of any coupon codes at DI. He's a vendor here so maybe shoot him a PM?
Don't forget to pick up some Migliore

No offense, but those products are good... I would never use them.
1) Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer -- Decent QD but there is better stuff on the market.
2) Orange Blast All Wheel Cleaner -- Soap and water only... No detergents touch my wheels.
3) Windows Glass Cleaner -- Stoners Invisible Glass is the best IMO.

Don: Good point, I guess I'll just stick with the ONR for now. I e-mailed Greg from Detailed Image and he was nice enough to give me a 10% discount so that's what I'm currently considering purchasing. Least invasive makes sense.
Blackjack: You mentioned that there's better QD's out there on the market. What's the best one in your opinion? I've seen pics of your ride and it looks really sharp and since we both have the black G37, I'd like to know what you think works best.
As for a wheel cleaner, I never even considered a simple soap & water cleaner. It's cheap & if it works, it works. I heard that Blackfire's "Long Last Tire Gel" is the best and after googling around, I've heard nothing but amazing reviews. Ever used this stuff?
Thx for both your feedback!

Hey Max, thx for the suggestion. I'll consider the Poorboy's cleaner. I actually used the Mequiare's quik detail spray last night and it looks pretty sweet so maybe when it's done, I'll try the poorboy qd. I definately like the blackfire tire cleaner (kudos for the nice review btw). I'm gonna get that for sure.
What about interior leather cleaning products? Oh and is it safe to use the QD sprays to clean the exterior on a daily basis or is that too harsh?

great info don, brian and ben. i live in a condo as well with no outside hoses and im looking to step up my cleaning game for my new car. so far this is what i got from you guys...
wash - onr
tires - blackfire
windows - stoners
wheels - soap and water
as far as a wax or sealer, i saw that someone said its probably better just to pick 1 rather than worry about using both. ive seen menzerna fmj pop up a couple places but what do you recommend? ill probably need to pick up some new microfibers too. what about drying cloths? ill also check out the detailing videos you posted don.

Woady, I hear great things about DuraGloss 105 on the internet after doing searches. I didn't get good reviews from reading around on the net about menzerna fmj. But again, just do your research and see what ppl think.
