How do you remove swurl matrks on black coupe?

I buffed my car with a machine for the first time. It was getting dark so I didnt notice it till the next day. The whole car is covered with swurl maks. Do you think its permanent or would it hurt the paint? Thanks

its definetly permanent if you don't remove them correctly. What type of machine did you use to buff them with?

On a serious note. You NEED to go a site like Autopia.org and read some of their stickied threads. Not knowing what to do is the worst thing you can do.

What machine, pads and product to use is KEY to getting the results you want.

Black is the most unforgiving color. It will show EVERYTHING.

^^ I agree...check out autogeekonline.net or autopia.org...they have great tips on detailing and keeping the paint in good condition. As far as zaino is concerned. I've found that it only covers up the swirl marks rather than polishing them out. In order to remove them permanently you'll need a high quality polisher/buffer like the PC 7424(7336) and some polishes.

That's correct. Zaino Z5 only attempts to hide swirl marks, but does not remove them in any way. I haven't used Zaino Z-PC, which is a newer Zaino product supposed to remove swirl marks. Basically though, you need to have an abbrassive compound if you want to remove swirl marks and you'll get best results using something like a PC or UDM.

I bought the UDM, gave it a quick test over the weekend. Prolly wash the car again this weekend and polish and seal the car. I don't have anything too abrasive yet cause I don't need it.

Menzernas Intensive Polish is excellent for removing light swirls. You have to be very careful w/ black. Actually, you should buff only when absolutely necessary or every year maybe (that is if you are cleaning your car carefully from the start) and when you do buff, use a low speed orbital buffer and don't try to rush through it- do one panel at a time and makesure it is well lit so that you can see what you are doing.
