417 and TG are different experiences. Night and Day. ( I had gone to 417 first unfortunately and got horrible service).

TG = My wife got a rose at TG - brought us coffee - continued to check in with my wife while I was on the test drive. On the drive he took me all sorts of different road conditions - took the time to explain everything about the car in detail. He actually told me about VPP and that I qualify.

417 = Had to wait forever for a salesman - no one gave a **** - receptionist was too busy talking to 3 other salesmen or service crew. Test drive was horrible (not the car) he didn't say a word. He was rude when we talked price afterwards - his first comment was "What do you plan on accomplishing today?" How rude!!! After that everything went downhill. He didn't take me seriously - I guess because I look young he figures I am wasting his time - I had planned on paying cash.

If I buy I buy from TG only!
We talked to different people... Chris was out when I was doing my shopping so another guy was helping me at TG. That guy didnt even know the 0-60 times of anything.

"so, how fast does this 08 g35x do 0-60?"

"ummm, I don't know, its in the brochure somewhere, 5 seconds?"

... At least the 417 person knew his stuff.

Well, you had a better experience at 417 than I did. Further to my note above, the salesman was also giving off vibes of "I'm better than you" and "you are lucky to be buying a car from me" attitude that I just won't tolerate from dealerships. And anyone working on commission shouldn't have that attitude. When I buy my G37S from TG - I'm gonna roll up and pull a "Pretty Woman" (not sure if you've seen the movie) where Julia Roberts goes back to the store that treated her like **** and says - "oh you work on commission - BIG mistake" as she struts in with tons of clothing from a competitor...

Its not that my 417 experience was the absolute best, but at least the guy knew all the numbers well and seemed pretty neutral. I'll be buying in ~2 months, perhaps I'll speak to Chris as well.

I am hoping to buy by spring - and ideally I want to avoid putting on winter tires - so April may be a good time for me. This will give me the spring/summer/fall to shop around for nice winter tires for the Ottawa snow.

I would def. recommend Chris B. from TG on Robertson Rd. from what I have experienced so far.

I am also hoping the incentives go up again in the next 2 months. October 2007 they were at zero, Nov. - Dec they were at $3000 + 14% - and Jan - present they are at $4,500 + 13% of the price of the vehicle.

My rationale was the same...What kind of a quote did you get? I was looking mostly for 08 g35x, but g37 as well. I got quoted $51.5k + taxes before any incentives for a fully loaded g35x sport 08 and they threw in all around tints. Thats like 2.5k off MSRP + free tints. Tony G quoted me 1k more for the same thing and no tints...

My numbers are below - based on me qualifying for VPP discount:

Here is the VPP breakdown for G37"S":

Dealer Invoice = $45,500

+ Freight, PDI, gas tax = $1,695

- VPP discount = $1,200

- Cash purchase incentive = $4,500

Plus 2.5% delivery charge = $1,845

= $43,340 + 13% tax = $48,974

For the G37"S" I get pretty much the same deal that a Nissan/Infiniti employee gets except they don't have to pay the 2.5% delivery fee of about $1,845 + tax. You can see the math and the offer here -> http://www.vppcanada.ca/associate_offer.psp

So basically I am saving $4,450 off MSRP (since I get it for dealer invoice) then they take another $1,200 off for VPP discount, then they take another $4,500 off because of cash incentive - so I save $10,150 + the 13% tax savings of a grand total savings of $11,469 off MSRP.

My worry is dropping $43k + tax for this car and in a few months due to strong CDN $ Infiniti revises their pricing down to close the gap between CDN and US prices...

You're basically paying $600 over invoice, + you got a $4,500 rebate, it doesn't get any better than that. If Infiniti revises pricing, the rebate will be gone or less.
