G37s New Purchase HELP

I'm looking to buy a used g37S very soon. I've been looking at a lot of '08s and' 09s. I hope to find a MT but there aren't a lot available. If I go with the automatic, I read there's a transmission change from a 5 speed to a 7 speed. Can anyone give advice on this? Is one better or worse? Does it matter? Thanks for any help!

Wait for the MT. From what I've read the 7 speed is superior but use the search function and read up for yourself.

2008 was the first year for the G37 Coupe. The auto was a 5AT for that one year only, but it had shorter rear gears.

2009 was the first year for the G37 Sedan, and the only model that got the short rear gears was the 6MT.

Starting in 2009 and every year thereafter, the transmission in the G37 Coupe and Sedan auto was a 7AT.

Hold out for the manual. It's worth it.

yeah hold out for the manual the 7at is lackluster and gear changes couldnt be any slower but maybe that was becasue I came from a VW with DSG so the gear changes in the automatic were seamless

I've owned mine since about 2013. I have the 7AT.
Get the manual.
