End of Lease help please!
End of Lease help please!
Hi all,
My end of lease inspection is coming up this week and I had a few quick Q's to ask. My car is at the dealer currently for maintenance and I was informed that I need:
2 new rear brakes = ~$330
2 new rear tires (bad) = ~$700 (need these bad)
What is the best route to go? If I don't get it fixed before the inspection day, I will have to provide receipts for it. How would this work if I do find parts off of the Private Classifieds section?
I told my service rep that I am going to take my chances with the inspector but I will most likely get dinged for it...
Thanks in advance everyone!

If it were me I'd replace the brake pads myself. Less than 1 hour, probably under $25. If you can't DIY, take to to a local brake shop and get the rear brakes for probably $100 or so. Find the cheapest place to get a pair of tires locally. The dealership's price on tires is going to be more expensive than most tire shops. I'm not sure if they must be the same as the front tires, if not get the cheapest ones you can find.
Geez didn't know you are responsible for those things in a lease, something else that adds significantly to the cost of a lease. Discount Tire Direct through eBay has $100 off $400 on tires until 3/16 with code CMOTORS0314.

Tires for sure they see, I had mine inspected Friday and tuned the car in on Saturday. Then breaks they would never see, EX its now on your service history. I only thing I got hit for was the rear emblems. 90$ :/
Front and Rear tires have to be a matching set on a lease return. Learned that one the hard way a couple of cars ago after i had just put brand new non-matching rear tires on the car before turning it in.
