Trying to buy a G37 with not much luck
I am trying to buy a 2009 or 2010 G37 auto w/sport package however I live in Minnesota and apparently due to the winters they do not stock any rear wheel drive G37 here. I understand the logic as their is probably more of a market here for the awd version however I do not like how they look as much as a G with the sport package.
Now maybe I am not seeing it clearly but none of the dealers are even trying to do a dealer trade with another dealership down south. All they keep saying is they dont do that or they cant find one anywhere and that I will have to custom order one which will then take a couple of months to get to me.
Are these cars that rare right now that they cant find one and are they selling that well that they wont even try to do a trade with another dealer with a for sure sale right in front of them?
I want the car bad and am ready to buy a one way ticket south and then drive it to the dealership to show them that there are cars available and they lost the sale.

I did that 10 years ago when I was buying a pickup truck and the only 2 Dodge dealerships in town insulted me by telling me that nobody would sell me one lower than $300 below MSRP.
Negotiated with a dealership in OK that ordered me one from the factory and still gave it to me at $250 below invoice. Was well worth the 4 week wait and the $300 plane ticket to save thousands. And I drove straight back the the locals and show them the bill of sale with the price I got it for.
The drive home is more than enough to make it worthwhile. According to GL, the shipping will cost more than the flight (and my guess, +gas).
I was about to fly up to Sacramento for the QX, but after giving local dealers one last shot one was located near me.
Let us know how the drive home was. (I need to go for a drive)

I leased the last 09 RWD G37S in the region in the last part of December, took me forever to find one. Let me know if you would be interested in taking over a lease if you can't find what you are looking for.

There has to be a car around...and what dealer doesn't use the network they have to find it and get one? They can direct cars to their dealer from ANYWHERE, and you shouldn't be charged for it. That's called the destination fee.
