HELP Me make an OFFER for a new G37 coupe! EXCITED!

here are the 3 cars im looking at: this is in texas with a .625 tax rate

Car A: 09 white g37s manual sport/premium package
Car B: 09 white g37 journey auto sport/premium/spoiler
Car C: 09 white g37 journey auto sport/premium/navi

Car A: He quoted me 38700 out the door
my price: I'm thinking about throwing 37k out the door at him

Car B: He quoted me 40000 out the door. I'm thinking 37k out the door

Car C: He quoted me 39500 + tax, title...etc..I'm thinking being crazy and throwing 38k out the door

Are my prices rediculous or are they what I should be paying for 09s?

Go with car C for $38000 OTD but be ready to may push up $500. They'll take the deal.

do some research on New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews and Pricing - Edmunds.com thats a great way to shop for cars. you'll pretty much know how much everything costs for the dealer (invoice cost), and you can judge whether or not they're ripping you off. though Car A sounds about right out the door.

between b,c I'd take navi over spoiler any day, you can always add spoiler later, but it's a lot harder to add a built in navi.

stick vs auto? What do you really want to drive every day?

something doesn't add up... why is spoiler being quoted higher than navi? spoiler is like a 500 option, vs navi being a lot more than 500 bucks... is one of them a demo?

also considering that the 010's are coming out soon, you could probably negotiate something a little above invoice + options (at invoice cost) + tax, licensing, registration/doc fees.

Pretty easy way:

Find the invoice prices of these cars. You can get a pretty close estimate online. Choose what you are doing in incentives. If you are taking the cash incentives, subtract them from the invoice price. If you are taking the financing, then stay with the invoice price.

Once you get that price, take another 500+ bucks off invoice because you are buying an 09 and the dealer should want to move the cars.

Thats the price you should be paying, no higher, plus taxes and tags. No fees.

Make your offer a little lower than that so you have room to negotiate up and still get around or better than the price you should be paying.

^ That's what I did. Edmunds.com has the correct numbers as far as invoice & MSRP etc.
