if u drive hard occasionally to frequently - it's probably safe to pour in a 1/2 qt of oil every 1k miles then.

I've been having oil consumption issues at 8500K miles. Infiniti Service is now conducting a 1Kmiles oil-consumption-test as of yesterday.

I had to put about two quarts every 3K miles. I've been seeing a reduction in oil since the day I drove the car out of the dealership.
