Amsoil is the shiznit!!! I don't know why I never used them before. Wow. I'm a believer now.
I did the first oil change of the year a few days ago. Now I've been a firm believer that Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was the best oil based on it being standard for the Mopar guys. (SRT, Hellcat, Trackhawk). I figured that if the oil can stand up to them flexing their 800hp+ cars it can stand up to our 300hp VQs and my spirited driving. I've never had a issue with it except I had the usual ticking sound the VQ37VHR is known for. Fast forward to this month and now a 5qt of Pennzoil is $50 on Amazon. Went up $25!! So I started looking at other options.
Looked at Nissans Ester oil but while doing some research I've learned that most recommend you change it every 3,000 miles. That's annoying. Lol. Amsoil was the next option. I ended up going with their OE series. If that's correct. I'm not sure how they do it but it cost me a beautiful $75 for 6qts and next day shipping. Found a WIX XP filter on Amazon for $10 so total for oil change is $85.
Now back to the first paragraph of this post. Amsoil forever! I've never heard my engine so quiet before! It's so quiet that I found out I need a new belt because all I heard was squeaks. If you haven't changed your oil yet, get amsoil! You'll be happy like me. (Not a paid actor)

Keep in mind you'll probably have to change your glare cut-off shields - JDM is right hand drive, so low beams will rise up on your left, not your right as with USDM, and blind oncoming traffic.

Oh............ you live and you learn. Returns are accepted so let's see if I can actually do so. Maybe I'll do an amber delete if possible on my OEM lights. I got excited for the price and bit the bullet prematurely. It is what it is.
Love this thread! Just a quick question, what are the differences in the headlights? Any comparison photos? From what I've seen the tail light differences are just amber turn signal bulbs and no red slopes on the sides? Has anyone thought of or have a list of differences between the US G37 and the 370GT JDM and Euro?
since JDM (and all drive-on-the-left countries) are right hand drive, the lights point to the left. So if used in the US or any drive-on-the-right countries like continental Europe, the treeline part of the beam will be blinding oncoming drivers even on low beams.
Without breaking out MS paint, most headlights do not have a flat beam cutoff. It rises on the side that is to the edge of the road. In the US, like this < < (that is, flat beam in front and to the left, rising at an angle up to the right). This helps you see signs and critters and such.
JDM is like > > - for the same reasons. Don't use JDM headlights on any car driven on drive-on-the-right roads. Check if Euro-spec lights are different from US Spec if you're trying to get the appearance right.
This is a huge issue with importing older cars (R32, 33, 34 etc) unless they use sealed beam units that can be replaced with US or Euro spec lenses.

I thought so, I would've expected a simple realign would fix this issue. They visually look the same as far as I can tell, I would assume all coupe lights and sedan lights are identical shape wise at the least.
May 2023 update:
,
Hello again! Just updating everyone in regard to the build. There's nothing to report lol. I've been busy with moving into a new house, preparing for my second child and my side job of being a DJ has kept me occupied as well. Still plan on doing my JDM headlights install with the clear lens mod. Deciding on which bulbs to use. I've been stuck between OSRAM CBB HIDs or going with Lasfit D2S LED conversions. Leaning towards the HIDs but love the look of modern LEDS. Still doing some more research on them so no final decision yet. Also, I updated the first page of this thread with my current mod list for those interested. Looking forward to updating this thread with some new goodies. Also the car has been great. No issues to report whatsoever. *KNOCK ON WOOD*
Started work on the clear lens swap for my JDM headlights. Taking into account what was discussed before in regards to the beam cut off glaring other drivers, I might just swap the JDM chrome into the USDM one. That way I'll have the look of the JDM headlights with the proper functionality of the USDM beam. Seems like a lot of work just for what is technically an amber delete, but hey I'm opening up the headlights anyway so why not? Heres the JDM headlights:
I also noticed an extra light above the turn signal bulb in the JDM headlights. I'm assuming that's used as a DRL? If anyone knows, please let me know. Here's a USDM headlight with the second light missing for reference:
This is where I'm at right now, jumped the gun as the actual lens isn't going to be here until tomorrow, nor did I take OEM headlights off the car yet. Using it as a guide I guess so I don't screw up my OEM headlights. Will update as needed
The main difference between LHD and RHD is the cutoff shield in the projector - the one that people cut the tab off anyway. If you swap that you'll get the right US/LHD cutoff.
