Just read through all this. Now you are really making me want to try dying my spare set of sport seats a new color.... and do a suede headliner conversion lol.

It's been awhile since the last update. I've been taking my time with the headliner re-wrapping (helps to not have to drive the car with quarantine); while slowly obtaining OEM Black Plastics. This time around the suede job came out perfect:

The Q60 Visors have a warning sticker that unfortunately won't come off with heat or chemicals. On their forums they recommend these patches. It works... but is the wrong shade of black. Oh well, was a $15 experiment. I will most likely take the visors to get professionally re-upholstered.

Here's the fitment issue I've been battling with the g35 rear bumper. Replaced reinforcement bar, foam, and retaining brackets- bit still had a noticeable gap that was driving me crazy:

Out of desperation, I purchased a brand new bumper from Amazon to see if that would solve the issue. Sure enough it did. Lesson learned, buy new.

Funny enough though, the bumper arrived with a small crack in the valence area which would have been covered by the CF diffuser. Originally the seller was to provide a discount; but they ended up refunding the whole purchase. NOT COMPLAINING

Currently the car is at House of Pearls here in Columbus for paint. I figured while the car was there, I'd do something that I have always wanted to do.... molding in the front lip!! While I love the OEM lip; it can look a bit "snap on" from certain angles- and it limits me from having a standard lip in the future (not a fan of the lip on a lip look). Obviously there's always concerns with damaging it- but hopefully the looks will be worth the risk. This actually may move me towards air suspension in the future.

So excited to have a freshly painted front end, and to put this 07-09 rear conversion to bed. More updates to come!

Why didn’t you just wrap the q60 visors in the same material as headliner? It will match and you wasn’t have warning sticker.

That will be the plan, just will need to get it professionally done. Not sure if the q60 are clamshell design like the g37s; and it was a pain the last time I did it to get it perfect.

I’ll be breaking mine apart one way or another so I’ll let you know what the design is. Hopefully I don’t break the first one. Pretty easy to wrap once you get it open.

Keep me posted! The G37 & 370Z visors I've messed with have been clamshell designed, the tricky part is the curved area near the bar (which clips into the Sun Visor Holder). Might be easier with leather vs foam-backed suede.

I could try leather, but unsure if that's too much contrast between materials.

Did you you get the QX70 dome light yet? I found the car on autotrader and found a pic of it. I’m so jealous you found this. Let me know that part number ASAP if you don’t mind. I think it’s 26430-6WY6B but I’m not sure.

How are the QX70 dome light plastic lenses any different than the OEM lenses on the G37?

It is not the lenses he is after, rather it is the black map light assembly that apparently was/is not available for the G.

Correct. The GTR and Nissan Z are black but don’t have the sunroof switch. All other models with sunroof switch are tan. This super obscure car does tho.

Ah-h-h. Right. He wants the assembly, not the lens. I get it now.

Hey OP, did you know the dome light lenses in the GT-R use a diamond-cut pattern, instead of the matte white design we have.

And did you know it's a direct swap?

I bought the GTR dome light assembly but I think I like the matte white better. I’ll put one of each on at the end and see which is better.

Yes, I ordered 26430-6WY6B on 6/4. I haven't received it yet, but I bet the part isn't readily stocked at any dealer since it's so obscure.

Bingo.

Yessir! I currently have the GT-R clear lenses in my OEM G37 housing. Cannot wait to have those swapped over to a hopefully OEM Black QX70 housing. It's been a surprisingly difficult, yet daresay fun little project trying to source OEM Black plastics. Ah the perils of OCD....

It’s fun when you find them! Lol

So far the only parts that I couldn’t find a car with a black replacement (for the coupe at least) are the coat hanger hooks and the A-pillar vents. I may order the dome light from Infinti too assuming yours comes as described. Although I think my plan B of using the GTR part with the G37 sunroof switch part painted to match the trim is still a reasonable budget option.
