So I've officially locked in August 22-23 as dates for my tuning. I'll be visiting Seb down at Specialty-Z for an EcuTek dyno tune.
We'll also be installing the Specialty-Z Flex Fuel kit which will include a fuel line with in-line sensor, a Zeitronix ECA-2 ethanol content sensor and harness along with 1000cc Bosch injectors. We will check to see the health of the fuel pump and replace if necessary. This will allow the car to run on 91 octane gasoline to E85 ethanol and any combination of both.
Seb will be tuning 4 maps which will be: main tuned map, hot weather map (100+degree weather), valet map and a burnout map. The burnout map will allow standstill burnouts which the ABS and VDC systems in our cars don't allow without pulling fuses. Also, the main tuned map will include launch control and no lift shifting.
I decided against going full return fuel system until we do the TT install sometime next year. Needless to say I'm super excited to see what the VQ naturally aspirated motor is capable of on E85. I don't know of anybody else who has done this. The car is at 315whp/256wtq currently with boltons and NO tune. I'll post dyno results and impressions shortly afterwards. STAY TUNED!
