loving it... now that the calipers are so exposed and off gray, i plan to paint/powdercoat same red as the center cap

At last week's meet-up, I was looking at a member's red calipers up close. It was a DIY project, and the glossy red metallic was very attractive. However, there were some serious deformations in the paint that apparently have occurred over time. He said it was caused by heat, which I didn't know that could happen. So the point being... if you're going to paint the calipers, go the extra mile to have them powder-coated.

Personally, there's something very cliché about bright red. But whatever you do, I'm sure it will turn out nice. You seem to be making good choices.
