I guess they got a little more serious about repairing my fender than I thought. Any imperfection they sanded down and primed. Today it goes in for paint and clear coat.
Hey Rochester? Remember when you mentioned something to the effect of needing to take the incompetence in stride of my service, detail, bodyshop depts, etc? So I get in my car yesterday in the body shop after they finished with the fender and the check engine light is on. I started laughing. Of course no one even mentioned it to me. We put a scan tool on the car and it had codes for the MAF sensors. I don't know if baking the car in the oven at 140 degrees to cure the paint screwed something up or not. We cleared the codes and the light has not come back on. But wow, talk about Murphy's law. Anyway my fender looks much better and the two stone chips I touched up are completely back to normal again.
I don't recall, but I say a lot of things. I'm very happy for you that the body work turned out so good. Strange thing about the CEL.
It's a good feeling when the car feels 100%. A rare feeling, to be sure, but sure is sweet in the moment.
I was referring to your comment here 2 days ago. (post #1620) Very true sentiment about the car feeling 100%, especially the tuned car. I think I only have a few more things left to do with this car. I will have to space them out a bit, because some of the possible replacement cars do not debut for a while.
My car was starting a bit hard the last few days due to some extreme cold lately (-30 degree wind chills yesterday) and I had to jump start it twice. After a few battery tests, the battery I just replaced 2 years and a few days ago finally failed and qualified for replacement. I was surprised because the original battery with far fewer cold cranking amps lasted much longer. The fact that it was a few days over 2 years old is significant because the battery has a 2 year full replacement warranty. At least it was still pro-rated up to 84 months so I only had to pay $34. Not the most exciting upgrade, but a necessary one in the extreme cold that is finally slowly going away here.

Two years back for me, on a car that's 2 years older, and... Same. Exact. Thing.
Go figure. These days I'm using a trickle charger on the G's battery. Very easy to live with with the adapter cable.

That's interesting that you had the same problem. I pulled out the trickle charger last night after my car stuttered for just a brief second with the new battery after sitting out in the -30 degree wind chills all day. Fired right up this morning.

I guess if your car starts giggling, that would make sense.
Its been like -6 or -9 (heh heh heh) around here. I think my battery is fairly new.
Wind chills don't affect cars/batteries, BTW.
I think most should be good all the way down to -40F (-40C) ambient.
It was -16 yesterday, but today it finally starts to warm up and we are now at 16 degrees above 0 and the sun is out. Yipee! You are right about the wind chill for batteries, but -30 degree wind chills are when I finally start to admit that it is cold outside.

Woof.
At 50F for me its like the scene in Terminator 2 where he gets the liquid nitrogen poured on him.
If I were your battery, I would also refuse to work.

Fair company, I suppose.
Crazy thing is that it seemed dumb in my head. But as I was typing it, I was like, "THIS....this is gonna win a Pulitzer".
