Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
My axles finally came and went in at Jtran last week:

I got a pair of Gramlight 57xtreme 18x10.5 +40 rear wheels a few weeks ago for a steal and mounted 295/35/18 Nitto NT05s on them as these will be for my track/drag days:

I'm going to need to get a matching pair for the front now, but for my immediate quarter mile goals just the rear should be fine.
I've never done a burnout in this car before and didn't want to be a complete noob at the drag strip and stall so I had to practice hooning of course:
Lastly, I have been trying to learn how to use my camera and edit more. My brother and I took our cars to take pictures the day after Christmas:

I think this is probably my best attempt yet:

Edit: Many have asked how the cars stack up, here is some Mexico highway fun. (Note: Watch the RPM go to redline)
Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Wow, those new axles are perrrty, Tony. But I'm surprised your still running the factory traction arms... I've replaced mine with the DME traction arms and immediately noticed a difference when launching. Anyway, hope to see some 11 second time slips from you soon!
Oh, and that video of your highway pull next to your Brother's car is just crazy! Do love the color on his GTR though!!!

Thanks for the advice sir! The plan is to slowly start redoing suspension, but right now the mod budget has fizzled (we are in the process of building a custom home). My immediate goal is to be the first street driven G in low 10s as I haven't seen any street driven G35 or G37 there yet. Hopefully slips will be coming soon!

Low 10's! Set them records for me to chase
Oh you go to Jtran too? I had them install my 4.08s... Great guys.
DME traction arms??? Why have I not heard of this yet?? I'm always burning too much rubber when I launch... I wonder if these would help.

Low 10's! Aren't you the ambitious one?!?
I'd just be happy with high 11's first myself. I understand completely regarding reduced funds while building a custom house. I actually had to sell my M3 when my wife and I built a custom house years ago. The house ended up being WAY too big for just the two of us and we ended up not liking the neighborhood, so we sold the house less than 2 years after building. I do miss by big garage though!
If you are running the OEM traction arms then any aftermarket arm with stiffer bushings should help. Not only are they fully adjustable, but they are also considerably beefier with firmer bushings and allow for less flex.
I'm not a fan of the Kinetix arms, but the SPL arms are probably the nicest ones available. I just didn't want to go with full solid bearing and prefer to have a bushing to absorb some of the road harshness/vibration.

I have actually been putting off taking the car back to the drag strip even though I have had the DSS axles in for a little while now. The reason? Ron was very confident that if/when the car did hook up the stock two piece drive shaft would break. As always, I value his years of experience in building/racing cars and started to search for a stronger one piece solution..
If anyone has ever tried to find a one piece driveshaft for the V36 sedan they probably ended up in the same predicament as I did - it doesn't exist! You might ask why not use a one piece driveshaft for the G37 coupe? I did too, but no one has done this and I really didn't want to buy something that large and not have it fit. Drive Shaft Shop wouldn't let me know the length of their one piece driveshaft for the G37 coupe (trade secret?), but I was finally able roughly measure my driveshaft and ask them if they were the same size to which I was only told "Nope it's too long, it wouldn't work."
In the end, the proper solution was to completely remove the driveshaft, measure it exactly, and custom order one from Drive Shaft Shop. About a month after measuring and ordering it finally arrived and today it was installed:

Tonight was finally the night I could hit up the track! After installing the driveshaft, spot checking the car, and throwing the track wheels on I headed off!
But, after driving an hour to the track I find that it was closed in preparation for an event tomorrow!
I guess I should've called first..
In conclusion, if anyone is wanting/needing a one piece driveshaft the guinea pig work has been done and the specs are now with Drive Shaft Shop!
