Well, Twiggs... if you feel yourself at all persuaded by overwhelming opinion from nameless car enthusiasts, there's a whole bucket of peer pressure right there to paint your fog mesh black again.

Shall we start another round of opinions on painting the sides and inners of the grille Fuji black? Actually, that should be pretty easy to do. Pop it off, mask and spray. /done

I'll get right on the fogs when I get a chance but why is y'all's opinion on the window trim?
Should I just plasti dip it or just tape it all off, sand it and paint it

NO NO NO on the plastidip, it'll look like h*ll. Just wrap it, should wrap over the paint unless it's not real smooth, if it's a bit grainy just a light sand then a wrap. Only costs about $25 and will match your side door pillars perfectly, here's the easy DIY (at least it's easy compared to the rest of the stuff you've been doing

Great read and build thread Twiggs, those guys chiming are some well versed members/admin.

I will 4th the fog grill back to black, 2nd the mirrors to black or CF (although its not something I would do, I think it works for your build). I'll also second Brad's advice on the window trim, vinyl trim is the way to go.

Though I'm actually not a fan of the lower grill bar staying blue, I think it'd look better all black. Also not the biggest fan of all the CF but I think it could be done tastefully. If you are going with a CF front lip and rear diffuser, I'd be careful with how much CF you got on it now. Just a fyi. =)

Love the subie blue though, very refreshing color on a G and really pops in the sun. Something my blueslate lacks a bit of.

I think you've got a great build thats coming along and excited to see more. I'm equally as impressed as to how much you've done in such a short time! I've been in process of blacking out my headlights for the past 5 months...probably be another 2 months til I actually get all the materials and settle on a build to get it done.

Since you're taking criticism so well...here's my .02.

Your car is blue. Let's work around that. Rule of thumb, it it was plastic (black) before, do not paint it!!! There are very rare instances where they would look even moderately good painted the same color.

In one of the pics a few pages back, your G37 looked like my buddy's old SRT-4 Neon. CF parts like hoods, trunks and side skirts don't really flow well with any car that's not black/gray.

Colored emblems look very tacky. Either leave it chrome or take it off (I wouldn't leave it chrome since your headlights and fog light rings are now black). Do an emblem-less grill. Your body/paint guy should be able to do that in a day.

If you need ideas on what finishes/colors that go well with the blue, usually anything silver, brush aluminum, machined, black, gray, go very well with it.

Wrap your chrome window trim or paint it. You just spent all that money on a paint job, don't half *** the trim with dip.

Your wheels would look decent if you left them silver and just dropped the car on some coilovers. That's the only thing you can do to make them bearable.

Man.... You just said just about everything I'm not gonna do lol. Thank you for the opinion but personally I like the carbon fiber look and the painted emblem. Granted I'm gonna paint the background area of the emblem like Rochester suggested bit it shall stay blue. And yes te plastic mesh pieces in the front were not suppose to be painted. Miscommunication on the painters part but I'm gonna fix it. Also lowering springs are on the way. I don't particularly like the stock wheels but it's what I have right now and have I work with what I got till I have money I but rims
