Turbotwiggs's Slow Build Thread
If it were me I'd just do a vinyl wrap, it'll match your side pillars perfectly since they're wrapped from the factory and can be done on the car. Here's my DIY

As far as the Hood, Roof, and Trunk going together, I think they do. Sure it's a different look and takes some getting used to, but having the roof black brings some continuity in the design. It's hard to tell w/ the inside garage pics as far as getting how it all goes together. Looking forward to some good outside shots to really see how it flows
I like the color, I would ditch all window graphics and gloss black the window trim, bake and paint the headlights, new wheels(dark gunmetal or gloss black--not flat black as it takes away from all that glossy fresh paint), and I would take the G37 emblem off since there is nothing else chrome except your headlights and possibly muffler tips.
The beauty is that there is no rush on perfection, we all know you will make this thing look good!

Thanks guys and yes most everything you guys said I have planned. I may have to vinyl wrap te trim and yes the g37 thing and all the stickers are coming off. Just need time lol. I got home at 930 and got up at 0300 to start my day

I think the OP knows (or at least, he knows it now) that body-colored window trim raises the belt-line and fattens the roof-line. And I suspect in as much as he already admitted, that there are painting flaws regarding the window trim. Along those lines (no pun), notice that his paint guy also sprayed the black plastic corners of the side-view mirrors. Did he do it with a different paint mix? Probably not... and that's just clear-coated vinyl over plastic, just like the B-pillar (right?) Somebody got a little spray-happy.
I could learn to love the CF hood, because there's some balance there to the curves in the car. But the CF trunk is just flat-out wrong. I know that's just an opinion, but damn... it doesn't work at all for me.
Also, suggest you paint the Fuji in the grille black. And I think you're wanting to bake open those headlight lenses and darken the plastics inside somewhat, yes?
Those blackish Journey wheels look perfect as winter rats, even better with a knobby set of snow tires. But for summer, not so much.

It's hard to give a non-bull answer to what is better about having a grounding kit. All in, it cost me 35 bucks and a couple hours of screwing around until I got it the way I wanted. I've got a spare one I built to practice on. There's no PVC sheathing on it, but the sizing is correct if you'd like to try it out. Worst case scenario for me, it's more ooh and ahh coloring in the engine bay.
I'm kind of with Rochester on this. I like Subaru Rally blue as a color a lot, and it's hard to describe exactly what seems odd about this build. Nevertheless, the car looks....odd. To me. I can't give a reason why, since taken separately, the mods are well executed and clean, but it looks patchwork-y.
Maybe more pictures will change my mind, but it kind of looks like you changed your mind halfway through the build. Then again, what do I know?

I don't mean to keep pointing things out, but this is a forum and I'm sure you have thick skin. On a positive note, that color is magnificant in natural light.
I'm thinking a roof spoiler and a CF rear diffuser might tie the CF trunk into the build a bit better along w/ a trunk deck spoiler. The outside shots look better IMO although the rather dim lighting and quality of the pics leaves room for improvement. I'm thinking w/ a few tweaks it's going to come together pretty well. Agree about Johns' assessment of the window trim changing the visual proportions of the roof line. Getting the window trim in line will make a huge difference I believe, and that may be a big factor in Anthonys' choppy comment. I think the mirror mounts should go back to black as well, the solid blue for the whole mirror assembly seems to be too much of a blend, and CF mirror covers would be a good touch w/ the rest of your CF items. Keep it up OP, cool that you're going a new direction and I'd be glad to help you remove those window stickers, hell, I'd even provide the beer!
As for the trunk, I would very seriously consider painting that blue, however you're right that a spoiler would help.
And holy cow does that blue *POP* in outdoor lighting!
Pretty fascinating color choice, paying homage to the OP's Subby roots.

I would love that CF trunk to match my CF rear diffuser
Alfredo, I think you're right. The rims combined with the camera angle and the way the sun reflects off the paint (or doesn't reflect off the carbon) makes the whole car look very tall and short from end to end.
I think the real problem for me is that you only have two colors anywhere on the car. It's either black, or blue. There should be a third color in the mix to help define the boundaries between the other two. The color change is very abrupt around the windows, with the color matched emblem, even the wheel arches. All that does for me is hide the natural grace and lines of the G37 as a platform.
I really, really appreciate what you're doing though. I know it's no small investment of time or money to workover the car like this.
