2015 slihr 6mt ss - Chevy SS Forum

Looking for pics and info on your new SS. Wondering if you're still coming to next month's annual meet-up.

^ I know he just got it dyno tuned and made 425whp, not sure about the meet-up but from what I can recall I think he's going to it. I haven't had time to keep up with all of the messages in the chat.

Stalker much John, thanks for posting the link to my SS thread on the other forums, I completely forgot all about it and forgot to reply to other members.

Like Tony stated I just got it dyno tuned yesterday with a street tune afterwards to clean it all up and it made 425whp with cold air intake, long tube headers, mid pipe all the way to stock mufflers and HFC.

Other things I've done to it are , Eibach springs maverickman carbon CF spoiler candy tangerine clear coated, build plaque, tints, spyder LED HSV GTS replica taillights, quad tips, DRL LED dimmer module, led projector foglights and a bunch of other lights. Stay tuned for pics I have to send those from my desktop as the app and the mobile site on the phone keep crashing when I want to post pictures.

Yes I am coming to the August meet up John.

Fantastic! So looking forward to it.

Insofar as stalking goes... figured you'd be reusing "mik3". Wasn't really that difficult.

Nothing new to see on my sedan this August, unless you remove the diff cover and count the teeth.

This right here, with the "build plaque"... that is freaking awesome. I love it. Particularly the way it's raised up a 1/4". Man, I want something like that under my hood. A build plaque... wow.

That's smart John, you got me figured out.

Yeah I love the fact that Holden/GM actually kept records of each SS they manufactured down to a number out of total SS manufactured each year and a specific number in specific color, and as optioned that is 6mt sunroof and no spare in that color, mine being #10 of 19 as optioned for that year. Which is very little.

I can't wait for the cruise and the meet up, PM ME I'll give you my cell number to reach each other easier.

You've continued your excellent taste in mods w/ your SS, very nice, and bet you can't get enough of that exhaust note. That build plaque is pretty tasty!
Congrats on that buildup Mike.

Still calling it a Chevy SS, or did you go full Aussy and start refering to your sedan as a Commodore?

Well it's a tough topic honestly, to people that are clueless and ask me about what it is, I don't bother explaining anymore that it's a Chevy SS stateside but actually is a Holden because built by Holden in Straya, because it only confuses people further, so I just tell them it's Holden, because if I said Chevy SS then they'd wonder about holden badges inside and out.... but the people that know cars and know what it is, they know where these were built and that they pretty much are Holdens with badging converted back to Holden.

Only thing I'm missing for the Holden conversion is just swapping out the guts of the key into a new shell with Holden emblems, which I've had for weeks, just haven't gotten around to do it yet, and then reprogramming the Mylink Navi screen.

I think you should call it a Chevy Commodore... for absolutely innocent reasons that have nothing to do with me.

Haha maybe, there are so many ways to call the car, once in a long while someone actually happens to know what it is but still has to ask to make sure

I love the color and the way you have it set up! Looking good, although I'd love to see it either sit down on the wheels a bit more or a more aggressive tire set up because racecar

Thanks

I've only had it 5 months and got done so much to it within that time.

That's the plan to get wheels but different things are taking priority, we'll see I might just get spacers to get through this season and wheels next year and in the meantime I'd get Michelin Pilot 4S and dot4 Motul rbf600 and race pads and go have some fun at a circuit track haha. It'll definitely have 295s back If I go with wheels that I've been looking at unless they come out with less aggressive offset maybe I'd even be able to fit a 305 easily. I still haven't gotten either because idk if I'll end 70 getting wheels this year or not, if not then I'll get spacers for now
