Thanks for all the kind words fellas.
Because race car?
Naah I just think my hood dampers took a dump.
Yup, this will still remain my daily street car with the occasional track & drift days, spool and response are my main concerns. Let's see how much we can squeeze out of her on pump gas.
I will definitely do a better job with this one, but generally with all the sand and dust here it won't be very easy.

RB26 or 2JZ for 350z
I am going to work on a swap for a Z but I really need some convincing on what might be better. The JZ or RB. I can make my own motor mounts and **** like that no problem only thiing is finding the RB and looking for a trans to go with it

Talk to Raw Brokerage they'll sort you out. They have everything you need for an RB swap as they've done it before on a Z.
If you're ok with a Toyota engine in a Nissan then honestly go for the 2J. RB will require a ton of part hunting and mixing/matching. But the end result will be effing worth it!

Update 06-12-2012
Engine test fitting began and it is looking great so far!
The intake manifold inlet will he have to be slightly modified to fit the throttle body due to limited space
The turbo side however is a tight fit
The wastegate pipe is a little too close for comfort too, may have to be modified as well. No so sure yet. It is looking great so far!

Why aren't all cars sold in Dubai just painted Sand Beige for practical reasons? Oh that's right, you guys are all so rich that when they get dirty you just park it on the road side and buy another clean new one.
Continue to keep us updated with progress pics. Post pics of modifications to make this fit.

LOL you'll never get over it will you. I live in the desert man, if you wiggle me enough I'm sure some sand will come out of every hole in me too lol

Clean your engine bay while the motor is out and it's easy before dropping that beauty in there. I know it will look the same way as soon as you drive it again, but at least it'll look good for a few photos first.

Doesn't that shifter look like it just belongs there?
Well it wasn't work of magic though, the transmission will have to be pushed around 26mm away from the engine to get the shifter position where it belongs. A spacer will be made to sit between the engine and transmission housing. The flywheel will also have to be pushed by that same amount. You can see the tiny spacers currently being tested.
Since the transmission's cross member will be slightly relocated, some new holes had to be made
The crank case also wanted a share of the action, it wouldn't fit properly around the engine's cross member so it had to be modified. The mechanic suggested he will be test fitting an RB25 crank case as it may be easier to work with, let's see how that goes.
Transmission alignment in progress
The wastegate pipe continues to pester around, this time around the steering column. The mechanic says the engine is not 100% aligned yet, once done it will move further away from the steering column.

Sam, nice build moving along nicely, I love someone working on a unique project. What about the rest of the electronics for the car? Will the OEM ecu work or will you need an aftermarket one working in tandem? Curious.
