Help G37x Sedan Unstable at high speeds
G37x Sedan Unstable at high speeds
I’m new here so I hope I’m posting in the right place (if not I’m sorry ☹️) in December I got into an accident and had to go out of pocket (only had liability and was hit by a hit and run driver) long story short steering was very loose so the shop did the rack, inner and outer tie rods and alignment. went back as the suspension felt very soft and heard thumping so they replaced front and rear shocks and rear swaybar bushings, now I get a shimmy at 80 and get speed wobble at 100+ I didn’t feel the speed wobble before they did the shocks/sway bar bushings.. tires have good tread fronts are 9/32nds and rears are 7/32nds and everything is stock. I know stock handling isn’t the best but I remember it being better then it is currently. bushings and control arms are good what else could it be??
Could be a damaged / out of balance tire or slightly out of true rim. Take it to a tire shop and have the wheels balanced and see what happens. And for forum purpoases, we will assume any speed testing performed above the posted legal limit was done at a track : )
I’m going to get some better tires and a 4 wheel alignment included with it this weekend I’ll definitely tell them to look at the rims. Also, I did notice when I give the car a push by the c pillar, the rear end does wobble a bit excessive in my opinion especially for new struts, I’m wondering if that plays a roll. And yes all high speeds are done at the track
