Brake Problems on 09 G37 Journey
Ok so I bought a used 2009 G37 RWD Journey Sedan a little over a month ago and it was driving perfectly! I'm talking immaculately smooth! Well I started to hear a very light squeal from my brakes every now and then, but rarely & not often at all. I decided I was going to go ahead and get new brake pads for the front, even though they still had some life on them.
Here's where I messed up. I let someone replace them and didn't do it myself and he rushed the job and didn't do something right because I was noticing them slightly stick afterwards but not bad. I asked another friend to come by & he helped me look to see what the problem was. Well, we noticed that he had a pad upside down and 2 outer pads on the passenger & 2 inner pads on the driver. I told him that I didn't have any brake grease and asked if I needed to buy some & he said no because he had a grease gun. When he pulls it out, I told him not to use the grease gun because I knew you couldn't put regular grease on brakes and that you need silicone brake grease for high temps but by the time I told him, he had already put the regular grease all over my brakes. I was pissed but I figured it wouldn't do much &I would just regrease them later. The next time I get in my car, I'm driving with my kids, my girlfriend, & another friend and as soon as I press the brakes I heard a squeel that got louder &louder to the point where I just was like I need to pull over & check what's going on. I was passing through a bad area of town & it wasn't safe to just pull over with my kids & stuff where I was at. So I turned on my hazards, drove very slowly, and used my e-brake at lights & stops for about a mile& a half, until I could get to a gas station in a decent area. I start to look at my brakes and notice that the idiot left the inner brake pad completely off the front driver side. I'm in a rush so I just put one of my old brake pads on that happened to be in my trunk. I get home& the next day & I still notice that it's not driving right so I take all the new brake pads that had the wrong grease on them and put on the old ones because they weren't completely worn until I could get the grease off the new pads. I still was having problems with the brakes sticking so I decided to just start All the way over & I bought brand new pads(platinum expensive ones) and hardware that comes with them. I take the old ones off & sprayed this brake cleaner on my rotor and on my caliper to get the regular grease off that he put on there as well, just in case that was also a problem. I put the new hardware in, then the brake pads with brake grease(the right kind) on the outside of the pads and put brake lube on the hardware so the pads could slide easily. I start driving and it's driving perfectly. The next day, I'm driving and the breaks start sticking again. So I bled just the driver front side and now it's causing a lot of resistance. Like the brakes are constantly pressed just a little bit & every now & then, it'll come unstuck but as soon as I push the brakes down a little bit, they stick and I get this resistance where my car just accelerates slower and the rpm jumps way higher than it should. And if I try to coast & I'm not going that fast, it slows down really fast. Basically feels like the brakes are stuck just a little bit and not coming completely off &it gets worse or sometimes better when I turn. It reverses perfectly though. It also makes a sound when I switch from reverse to drive& vice versa. It's just gotten worse and worse. At this point, I don't know what to do. I'm gonna bleed all 4 brakes and see what that does but I'm hoping it's not my caliper or rotor. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. If bleeding all 4 brakes doesn't work. I'm just going to take it to the shop and see what they say.

Your post has a lot of info lumped into one paragraph and it is difficult to parse through to get the important details. So, let's keep this simple: under braking, does the car pull sharp to one side (ie. one wheel is locking up) or does car stay straight?
Explain what you mean when you say "I get this resistance where my car just accelerates slower and the rpm jumps way higher than it should." Are you attempting to drive with the brakes dragging?
If the car is pulling heavily to one side when the brakes are applied usually indicates a isolated issue at the wheel- sticking caliper, pinched brake line, etc. If all four wheels are affected, as evidenced by your resistance/ higher rpm issue," then the issue points to the brake master cylinder or the brake booster. Nissan has had issues (and a recall) in the past with brake booster failures causing the brakes to not release and other erratic behaviours. While very rare for the G37, it is not out of the realm of possibility that the booster is going bad.
As a safety note: your "e-brake" is a parking brake. It is NOT a "emergency brake." The brake shoes are tiny and are not designed to stop a 3700lb. car. Using it to stop the car puts you and others at serious risk.
