Non - S Brakes low?

So. my cars got about 8.2k miles and my mechanic said my front pads are real low so i checked em out and well... i can say i brake to damn hard from i guess speeding and stop and go traffic. anyone recommend pads and also is 10k about average for replacing brake pads? this is my first car that i had to maintain so i want to get some insight on this. Also should i be doing the install myself or should i just let him do it if im feeling lazy. its not like im mechanically challenged (for the most part). brake recommendations and where do i check size?

im looking for no noise, less brake dust then oem, durability, great stopping power, and any other suggestions im pretty opened to them. thanks for your help.

If you break hard then yes they can wear out very quickly. You need to get ceramic break pads they will omit less break dust and last much longer and won't warp as easily.

Damn, I need brakes too but Hawk and Mintex Extreme don't have them yet. From what I can gather from calls that I have made, if you have a sport model, you may have to get factory brake pads until something better comes out.
