squeeking front suspension
squeeking front suspension
Hi all,
Nice to meet all of you. I have a 2009 G37x with 173k miles I use for Uber. 2 years ago, the front suspension started squeeking when going over bumps (it only does it after about 40 miles of driving, so whatever it is, it takes time to warm up or something before it starts). So I took it to tire discounters, found out my shocks were shot . so I had the shocks and struts replaced, they also shook down the whole front end and everything is tight with no play, so it passed inspection. even with the new parts put on the car, it still had this squeek. so I took the mechanic for a ride to let him hear what its doing. He heard it, put it back on the lift, shook everythnig down again. he couldnt find anything wrong. a hundred miles later, the squeeking stopped. now, 2500 miles later, the squeeking is back, and at the time I had a wheel bearing going out in the front, so I took it to firestone, had the wheel bearing replaced, and told them about the squeeking. SO they also did a front end inspection, and found nothing with play, and couldnt find anything that needed replaced. So nobody can tell me whats causing the squeeking noises which are coming from the front suspension somewhere. As i said, it takes it about 30-40 miles of driving before the squeeking noises come, then they are annoying and passengers are thinking my car has something wrong with it, so i have my radio turned up to drown it out. so whats left, no mechanic can find the cause of the squeek, every mechanic clears my car safe to drive with everything tight on the suspension. I have no idea what to do next but I need to silence this whatever it is.
thanks for the replies.

Might be rubber suspension components.
You need to have the vehicle making the noise when a mechanic inspects it - I have a squeaking from the right front (only when cold outside) and it was diagnosed be rocking the front end on a full lift with weight on the tires. For me it's the transverse link (lower control arm) and all the bushings plus ball joint are replaced at the same time.

Thanks for your reply. every mechanic says my ball joints are fine and still tight. but today, i had the sway arm bushings replaced, and that wasnt it.
do these ball joints have a grease nipple , maybe they need greased. you can certainly hear the squeeking, when you push up and down on the car.
thanks!
