125k miles, which suspension parts to replace

Hello, I have an 09 g37 sedan with 125k miles that is still going strong, but I feel that some of the suspension parts may need to be replaced as to my knowledge everything is still on the original factory parts on the suspension.

I have been hearing a noise from the front left part of the car, near where the wheel is when going over uneven ground. My mechanic said that he thinks it might be a shock/strut that needs to be replaced but I am not sure because it sounds like the sound sways from back and forth when it occurs, and it does not occur when you think a shock would make that noise, like over a speedbump for example.

Which suspension parts would you guys recommend having replaced and where could i find them for a good price? Thanks guys.

Dampers and all bushings, including sway bar end links. Look at tie-rod condition, too.

It can add up in a hurry, AFAIK some of the bushings like the front lower control arm bushings aren't available separate, the entire control arm has to be purchased as a complete assembly

How long do you plan on keeping the car?

Honestly not sure, I'm feeling like I'm getting the bug to try something else because the transmission leaves a lot to be desired (7AT) and cost to run it hasn't been the cheapest either.

Thinking maybe a gti or 6mt sedan G37 if I could ever find one, but not sure if I would want to jump into the same platform again if I did change cars.

If you're getting the bug to replace it in the near future, I probably wouldn't put the money into refreshing the suspension since you probably won't get the investment out of it.

That's what I'm thinking, I'm just a little concerned about that noise but the mechanic said it wasn't loud enough yet to replace the part. It is a little disheartening though and you lose some connection with the car when you're a bit afraid due to sounds like that though.

Replace the frame bushings for your swaybars. The bars themselves don't wear out, because bars. But the bushings do. Probably replace the endlinks while you're at it. Aw heck, just get new sways, LOL.

Changing the shocks would be my choice. It shouldn't cost too much, will raise the resale value of your car and make the G more comfortable to drive.
