Hmm...wonder what that clunking sound in the rear was from?

WTH?

About a month ago, I took it in to get an alignment and have it leveled. They said the rear left coil needed a lot of lifting because it was so out of level. So I'm thinking they took the bolt out to adjust the coil height???

Past week, car felt weird (but it always seemed weird since I got it back from the alignment/frame shop) and clunking got worse.

Either the bolt came out, or was never put back on!

At first, I thought it was the convertible top, because it was really loud clunking w/the top up; not so much w/the top down.

Duh. The 500lb top weighed down on the rear, didn't clunk as much.

Funny, just talked to my former boss here at work who has an old 67 firebird. He told me he heard this clunking in the rear w/the top up. Not so much w/the top down. So pretty much the same thing as me! His issue: there was no bolt on the TOP of the shock!

Well..not really funny, but crazy!

Glad it wasn't something serious like the conv. top mechanism or blown shocks (that are like 1 mo old).
