Whats up guys, i just got done installing the akebono bbk on my g37x sedan. When i went to drive it whenever i applied the brakes the car drifted to the left. So i removed the pads from the right side and had my friend apply the brakes to see if all the 4 pistons were releasing. Only 1 piston was releasing which was probably causing the car pulling to the left. Do i need to get a new caliper or a akebono rebuild kit or is there anything else i can do??? Thanks
Possible the paint seeped into the piston bore area causing the piston to cease up. Hopefully you can just remove the piston(s) and clean them up w/ a scotchbrite pad, along w/ checking the piston bores for any debris that may be causing them to lock up. Also be sure your lines are properly bled, air in the lines can cause poor brake response, and need to bleed both sides of each caliper.
I would start with checking the bleed as Blnewt said, after that if you dont want to/aren't able to pop the piston out and you just got it, you could probably just contact the retailer and ask them to send a replacement under warranty..they usually give you an option to minimize downtime where you can pay for the replacement part and they will send it right away so you can swap it quickly and send the bad part back and they refund the price of the new part as a warranty replacement when you do they usually send return shipping labels too..at least I know thats how rock auto does it but I'm pretty sure others do it that way too

Unfortunately that wont work for me. I bought the calipers used on eBay and then eventually had them painted orange at a professional shop. Im pretty sure its the paint that is caused the caliper not to release as it looks like they didnt cover it up. Also is there a DIY or write up on rebuilding the akebono caliper?

Ok so I received the rebuild kit and also got the 4 pistons as well. Im thinking of having a shop just do it since I dont have an air compressor to pop the pistons out. Also dont feel like screwing this up.
