Cv boot grease
Well after searching for a good bit. I haven't seen any info on what kind of cv grease most use when replacing boots.
Plenty of topics about oil, diff fluid, atf etc.
I'm guessing most don't repair torn boots?

The FSM just states to use "genuine Nissan grease or equivalent." From my experience, any quality wheel bearing grease will suffice. Just do not overpack the joint else you will have problems with the boot sealing/blowing out/tearing. Been there, done that. Grease goes in the joint after the inner race, cage and steel ***** are assembled into the outer race, NOT in the boot. Been there, done that...
I have rebuilt quite a few CV axles over the days (not for this car) and take my advice for what it is worth: just swap the whole axle assembly. The aggravation you will save is priceless... unless you just want the experience.

I thought I would just replace the boot, clean them up and repack them with grease since I caught it in time.
How much is to much grease in the joints?

Those rubber boots, for some cars, are more aggravation than they are worth. Audi and Cadillac, back in the day, were always problematic. Anyhow...

Sections FAX (FRONT AXLE) and RAX (REAR AXLE), both provide good, detailed instructions on the CV joints. The procedures are the same whether coupe or sedan and model year.
There is no set specific amount of grease to use (ie. "X" many ounces). The aggravating part will be the band clamp...always was for me.

I think I will be needing the luck. I'll just take my time and if I get to aggravated I'll go get some new ones lol. Thanks for all the info.
