Jumping from 17" to 19" wheels

09 G37x sedan with stock 17" wheels. Hear lots of people saying about getting 19" wheels but I think its because they may have 18" stock wheels. I'm also on eibach springs. Can i get 19s or just 18s

If you plan on keeping your suspension stock I'd go w/ 18s, if you want to lower it the 19s and even 20s start looking more proper on the car.

18s weigh less, cost less and look good on stock vehicles, sometimes the larger wheels exaggerate the fender gap and look a bit off.

Coupe 19s however do look pretty nice on stock suspension, but being staggered you need to be careful about tire sizing or you can run all 4 of the same sizes since it's such a small stagger.

19's are fine and are usually more visually appealing than 18's.

Car can accommodate both sizes. An 18" will ride better and offer more protection to the wheel against damage while the 19's handle better but will ride stiffer. Majority of people use a 19", looks a bit better.

Thank you that's great info. I have a '13 x with the standard 17" wheels and I was wondering if was even worthwhile to go with the 18".

I've searched but not found a sorta' side-by-side that presents case at hand. I do like the coupe wheels (in a square set-up) but wonder if the gap on 19s will look kinda shade-tree on my red slider.

Can I fill up the wheel well with a sexy tire choice.?

These coupe/convertible anniversary wheels are a nice deal and will be a square setup and you can get them in 18s or 19s. For an 18 I'd run 245/45/18s and for 19s I'd run 245/40/19. You could run 245/40/18s or 245/35/19s to have a taller tire but it's better to stick closer to OEM diameter.
Here's the deals

Thanks for the info.

If I were to go with 19s could I go with the wider ones on the square set up. What I'm talking about are the sport rears all the way around? Guess they the 9.5s

Actually it's an 8.5" front and 9" rear, either will fit just fine. I'm guessing the wheels I posted for the lowest prices are probably the 8.5s but not 100% sure since the width isn't listed w/ the part #s.

Thanks.

I have decided to go with "18 x 9s all the way around. So they don't look too funky with a wide open wheel well as I don't plan on a drop.

I assume your prior tire suggestions still hold.

Thanks again,
Sean

No problem Sean,
What 18s did you end up choosing? It looks like all those good deals I linked are no longer a good deal
And yes, those 245/45/18s will work. If you chose different wheels do you have the offsets?

Thanks. I haven't chosen the wheels and tire sets yet.

I do not have the offsets. When purchasing through Tirerack, I was thinking that they would suggest them. Is not the way to go. I wanted to get the whole shebang at one time. Wheels, tires, TPMS, etc. is that a good option? Any other resources you might know would be great!!!

Finally I want good wheels...not knockoffs. It doesn't look like Vossen, for instance carries 18". Not that I want to go astronomical $$$
Any brands you (or anyone else) could suggest would be great.

Thanks,
Sean
