Will 285s work on OEM 9' Wheels?
Will 285s work on OEM 9' Wheels?
I am currently running 255-35-19 on the rear. I am having some traction issues and want to go to a bigger tire. The tire shop recommends no larger that 275's. I would go with 275-30-19 (-4.6% speedo error) but I was thinking of going to the 285-30-19s which are 11.22" wide and give me slightly less speedo error (-3.7%)
Anyone out there running 285s on OEM 9" wheels?

Thanks! I was wondering is 285 would be pushing the limit. I am not that concerned about a slight speedo error so would prefer the 30 series rather than the 35. The advantage to this is that it also effectively changes my rear end ratio slightly and gives me a more responsive feel at low rpm. The centrifugal SC is pretty sluggish below 3K rpm. It is a trade off but I don't need the high top speed.

So the sidewall was flush... Not bulged on the 285? What ratio... Did you go with the 30 or 35?
and thought that you might know. Up here they are saying there is no supply for 3 months.
