Tires on 18" sport sedan rims 18x7.5" wheels

Hey i know the stock tire size is 225/50-18 BUT i currently have a set of NEW bridgestone blizzak snow tires from my previous car that have maybe 1000 miles on them...problem is that they are 225/45-18. Is the difference in side wall height going to be a problem or look stupid on these wheels ?

Just looking for some input..

Here's the calculator specs for the new size, it's over 3% which I wouldn't recommend.
Inner Clearance:
8.35mm less

Outer Position:
extend by 4.35mm

Diameter difference:
-0.89" (-3.41%)
Here's the calculator for checking any other sizes & different wheel combos

inner clearance and outer position are staying the same since the rims are the same offset and width, the only thing changing is the tire height.
im getting the same Diameter difference: -0.89" (-3.41%)

Now tell me why do you not recommend this ?

Because the speedo ?

Yep, just the diameter is the concern, 3% difference is generally considered the safe cutoff point for the VDC (traction control), and ABS to be in range, and w/ an AWD X model the difference should be within 1%. And yes, the speedometer would be quite a bit out as well.

The 45's are about an inch shorter than recommended. Best to stick with the 50's.

Well, i put the tires on Saturday on the rims considering i already had them and i wasnt prepared to shell out all that extra $$ for a NEW set ESPECIALLY since the wheels are on from end of december to end of February. I had them on since saturday like i said and i have driven 42 miles since then and no lights on the dash. I did notice the speedo was a little because in my neighborhood there is a speed sign that shows you how fast you're going and the numbers did vary but not by much so im fine with that.

I appreciate the input.
