Brake noise clicking and grinding sound

My driver side rear brake is making a clicking and grinding sound when I apply the brake going slowly like 10 - 25 mph. The car also has to be driven on a slope surface like sloping toward the driver side so more weight to the driver rear wheel.

On level ground, no noise.

Could it be the brake, wheel bearing or something else?

Thank you.

Sounds like your brake markers are grinding...meaning your brake pads need to be changed out... they will grind and squeek due to the pad being worn down... pop off the wheel and look... easy change too... just remember don't change that 1... change in pairs... two front...or two rear...

31,000 kms or about 19,375 miles. No tracks, just city streets and driven normally and not aggressive at all.

Thanks.

Also, it is a 2010 G37 sport coupe. 7-speed automatic.

I watched a few youtube videos on how to change brake pads on a G37.

There are two parts I'm not 100% sure of. How do you move the piston back to get the pads out? How much force should you use.

How do you put the pads back in after checking and cleaning them? It will be loose from the removal process.

Thanks.

^^ Screw driver, or a modified c-clamp. I'd probably clean as much debris around the pistons as possible before pushing them back in.

2) After caliper installation, pump the pedal until hard. Pads will be properly seated at this point.

Thanks. After doing more research I think I might be experiencing brake chatter.

If you have a Auto Zone or O rilies near by just get the Small C clamp... I bought mine there and worked great its the large one you'll have to tweek... yet leave the pad in place by the pistons and compress unless you use a thin board ... easier with the pad...

Dude I have the same issue. Dealer swapped out the wheel bearing and the sound is still there. Let me know if changing the pads fixed it. It's annoying as hell.

Didn't change the pads. The dealer said the pads was not seated properly and hitting the caliper. They cleaned, greased, and reinstall the pads and the noise is gone now.

Seems like there would be premature wear, or uneven wear on the pads if they weren't properly seated, glad your noise is gone but might need new pads sooner than you think.

My friend and I will inspect them later this month and see if the pads needed to be replace.

If so, I will probably go with Stoptech Street Pads.

Thanks.

Thanks. I will have the dealer look into it. They didn't charge you right?

No charge for me because they were probably the one who messed it up in the first place. I complained of some brake noise back in March of this year and they said my brakes were very dirty and needed the brake clean so I paid for that.

Temperature was way too cold for me to be cleaning the brake at that time of the year.
