Coilover Noise

Hey everyone. I did a quick search and did not see what I was looking for. I am hearing a crunching/ spring type noise when I am hitting some bumps or changes in road. The noise is really prevelant in winter with cold temperatures. In warmer temperatures, around 70, I can hear the noise still, but it seems to go away a little after driving. When it is a lot warmer outside, the noise seems to disappear completely. I have Tanabe coils with about 20k on them. Any idea what this might be??

I've always seen the "springy" noise associated with not enough pre-load on the spring.

I had these installed back in 2009. I have had the noise in winter, but it seems to be occurring more often.
