lower "12 G37XS?? (on a tight budget)
Whats up guys,
I have 12 G37XS and havew been wanting to lower it for a while. What would be the cheapest way to lower the car? What would I purchase? I am new to this whole lowering thing, so if yall could help me out i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the Eibach pro-kit on 12 Xs and the drop is pretty significant. It's advertised as 1.9 front and 1.6 rear but after it settled I can definitely say it's lower than that, just about the perfect ride height though. One thing to keep in mind though is that because the drop is much more significant on the X vs the standard rwd G37 you really should consider a rear camber kit. I don't recall off the top of my head the exact numbers but after my spring install my rear camber was around 3.1 degrees.
I understand that Eibach have a new set of lowering springs for the Xs coupe that lowers it only 1.2" in the front and .8" in the rear....I have a 2012 Xs coupe...if I were to drop it do you recommend that I get a camber kit? I will probably go with 17" wheels in the winter....although I won't be driving much in the winter, especially on bad days, I would like to try out the winter/snow mode though...sounds cool! If we have another winter like the last two...and especially 2011-2012, that was the mildest and easiest winter I have ever seen in Montreal...even compared against Toronto! Essentially, there was only 2 months of winter and no snowfall and only a few really cold days. I will probably go with 17" wheels and tires....55s'; I'm running on the stock 19s that S comes with. They are very good though. Yokohamas....
My immediate concerns are: Will lowering affect the all wheel drive system and also once it's lowered, how hard will it be to drive in winter?

Do you realize how dangerous this is? Do not ever do this to your springs! Lowering springs are progressive meaning that they get stiffer as they compress.

Actually even cheaper, easier and faster if he heats his springs with a torch

in all honestly, I'd suggest waiting and doing it right if you don't have the funds just yet. You don't want to go the cheapest route, just to find that you need camber kits, but then can't afford the camber kits because you need to buy four new tires, and so forth. it gets ugly. and I speak from experience lol
