Replacement tires for '08 G37 coupe
Replacement tires for '08 G37 coupe
Need to finally replace the stock tires on the lady's G37 coupe. Aside from getting a direct stock replacement, can anyone suggest something similar but less costly?
If it matters, it hardly ever rains where we live, and it NEVER snows. Also she doesn't have a very far commute each day. Basically I am looking for something which has similar performance but at a lower cost, since the dealer wants almost $1300 for a set of 4 new stockies.

I've read some good things about these tires, however I am concerned that they wont meet the wear rating of the OEM Dunlops. Has anyone actually blown through a set of these yet? And if so, how did they wear for you?
Also, part of my issue is that 2 of her tires are still "okay"... as such I'd rather not mix and match tires. Can anyone weigh in on this?
Sorry for making you take time out of your busy day to tell me to do that. I should have known to use the search feature right away, given that I've never posted on here before. Thanks for making a guy feel welcome.

I'm on yokohama AVID envigors. Do you have the 19" sport wheels?
Traction is a lot better than the potenzas. Tire life has actually been pretty good. Almost 10k on them and plenty of tread left.
Edit: Actually, since you said dunlops that means you have 17 or 18s. I'm not sure why you would go to the dealer for them. I paid 1100 or so for a new set of 19" yokohamas at America's tire.

I obviously lost that one due to logic and rationality and I'm now glad that I did, else I'd have to bear the brunt of her "I told you so" rampage. Thats okay though, I kill enough tires for the two of us on my own.
edit for your edit: Im not getting the tires from the stealership, they want a retarded amount for replacements. That's just where the lady happened to take it on her own to get inspected.

I'd take a look at the Yoko Envigor or B-Stone RE970A/S. Both will be practical enough for a daily driver tire yet handle a little abuse. Shouldn't be noisy or beat you up either, life would be around 45K.
