problems with the Goodyear Eagle RSA tires?
i just bought an 09 G37x sedan and the OE ties are the Goodyears.
I've been reading some reviews at tirerack.com and other places that go so far as to say DO NOT USE THESE TIRES.
i'm concerned about this of course.
I've been reading about the Michelin Primacy MXV 4 tires. a bit pricey but supposedly outstanding tire.
any recommendations?
thanks!

Traditionally has not been that great of a tire. Average at best performer, mainly used in the oe market on new cars. There's always a better tire out there for the same or less cost.

My 2010 Journey RWD G37 AT sedan (non-sport) came with Goodyear Eagle RSA P225/55R17s. I chose the non-sport in part because I wanted a more compliant ride since I do a lot of city driving and don't take my car to the track.
When it's time to replace the Goodyears, I'll probably go with the Michelin Energy MX4 Plus ($170 per at Discount Tire) or Michelin Primacy MXV4 ($146 per at Discount Tire). Maybe Turanza Serenitys.

The old RS-As had a lot of issues with them. We have been using RS-As at my work on all of our Tahoes, Impalas, and Crown Vics, and they last, especially with the abuse we put them trough. We also drive about 30 to 60k miles per year. It was also the reason I chose to go with them on my personal vehicle. They are good all around tire. They don't excel in any one area, but they do very well in all of them. There are better tires out there for sure, but definitely not for the money. If you got brand new tires on your car from the factory, I don't see a reason to swap them out, especially not for a comparable street tire. If you are going to be hitting the track, then we wouldn't even have to list any of the tires mentioned in this whole thread thus far.
