Do I need a Rack & Pinion replacement?
Do I need a Rack & Pinion replacement?
I took in my 2011 Infiniti G25X for an oil change at my local Meineke and was told that I have power steering and oil leaks and need a rack and pinion replacement (I was quoted $2800).
I have included a link with some pictures they provided, and they said there’s no way to fix the leak other than replacing the rack and pinion. Is there no other way to fix the leaks (other than spending $3K)?

Try using ATF with stop leak or a separate bottle of atf stop leak. Couldn't hurt. Had a leak in my Volvo for years that I used stop leak on. Would just top up every couple of weeks. If it gets low you'll hear it whine and that's your signal to top up.
Highly doubtful. Unless your steering is making a noise, or you're needing to refill your PS fluid reservoir every few months, what you're seeing is typical fluid weeping behavior on the G's steering rack. Wipe it down and look at it again in 6 months.
If you're really concerned, pay for a diagnosis at your Nissan/Infiniti dealership... not a Meineke franchise.
