First Brake Job on 2008 G37S (in 2019!)
Hey everyone, long-time member, long-time lurker here:
I baby my 2008 G37S like crazy (currently 48k miles) and it's time for it's first brake job. I want to go ahead and swap pads + rotors because I have a strong jutter coming down from speed. Is the forum still recommending Hawk Performance Ceramics as the go-to for pads? I don't need any race pads. I just want above stock stopping power with low dust and low noise. What is the forum's current consensus on rotors? I don't need drilled or slotted, I just want a good rotor with treated hats so that they don't rust.
I found the following page and it is showing the same pads with different thicknesses:
https://www.buybrakes.com/infiniti-g...mic-brake-pads
Do I go by slartibartfast's recommendation stickied at the top in this Brake forum and choose the thinner pads front and rear, since I have a 2008?
Thank you all in advance!

I've been under the (forum lurker) opinion that the trade-off for stopping performance with Hawk Ceramics are dust and noise. And that Hawk HPS are the better compromise. Of course, that could be completely upside down. Pretty easy to google some "ceramic vs. hps" opinions.
No personal experience with the Hawk Ceramics, however. But I did have a set of HPS on an old Maxima, and was content with the results.
[edit]
The "ceramic vs hps" debate is endless. LOL

Thank you surfnazi and Rochester. I went with the Hawk Performance Ceramics for the pads, as they claim up to 32% more stopping power over stock, and the ultra low dust + noise was majorly appealing to me. I don't ride my car hard, minus a little spirited driving every now and then, so it should land me right where I hope to be. As for my rotors, the jury is still out on those. It appears that no one wants to turn rotors any more, so I am now shopping for four of those with painted hats. If anyone has any recommendations I am certainly all ears!
