Brake clicking

I noticed the rear drivers side brake is making a clicking sound, only when the brakes are applied, generally at low speed. The slower the speed, the less frequent the clicks.
Where would you recommend i start based on your experience?
It's fine on acceleration. Dealer resurfaced/machined the rotors when i bought the car in Dec, 60,000km 2014 q60 s. Seems to have started last week. Car was certified 3 months prior so brakes should not be worn. Haven't put on more than 1,000 km.

This matches the scenario

Could be a pebble caught between the rotor and dust shield.

That would be pretty great, I'll try to get a better look with the wheel off.
Do any of these possibilities stand out?

inspect brake shoe retainer spring
inspect caliper pistons
check for loose brake pad
check for too much caliper play
check if there's too much play in brake caliper bracket
check brake pad shims
caliper bolts loose
check space between brake pads
re-grease pins and shims
check tie rod end links
possible spindle replacement.
possibly defective wheel bearing
