Brake pad replacement

Hey everybody. I went to pepboys today to get new brake pads. First time replacing brakes on an Infiniti but in the past, usually just give year and model and they show you what the have to fit that car. For my 2009 g37s sedan, they needed to know if it comes with brembo package. Did some reading up on it but not sure if it would or not. Does anyone know if it would or how to find that out? Thanks a lot.

While im asking about it, might as well ask about brand too. I'm trying to stick with pepboys since i have a gift card there. I'm pretty much between Wagner thermoquiet ceramic pads or EBC redstuff ceramic low dust pads. Just going on retail price, i would think the EBC's are better because they almost cost twice as much (Pepboys running special on them though which make them about the same price). Third brand option is prostop, but i think i should stay away from those. Any opinions on these brands/pads would be appreciated. thanks.

If you have the sport package then you have the Akebono sport brakes, NOT Brembo. Honestly, Pep Boys should know the difference.

As for pads, there are tons of opinions on every brand and type of pad out there here in the forum. EBC brake components (Made in England) have a solid reputation in the industry so they should be a good choice.

I have Hawk HPS 5.0 pads and they are solid pads, however, I don't drive my car but 1-2x/month so wear and dust is not a major issue for me.

Does it being the sports model definitely mean it has Akebono sports breaks? Does it being a sedan matter? I use to drive a 2008 g37s COUPE, and now I have the 09 g37s SEDAN (TSX inbetween). I remember thinking the rotors and calipers looked bigger on the coupe ..

Both the Coupe and the Sedan- the Sport Package = Akebono

I have the Coupe. Hopefully a few sedan owners can chime in with more clarification.

Did you read the top-most sticky thread in this forum? I guess not because all your questions are answered there. Well, except for replacement brands...

Thanks. Wasnt sure about it being a sedan .. but now that I have settled that my G has the larger brakes and rotors, I am onto getting pads. Still trying to get them from pepboys (for reasons stated above) however, another trip to pepboys and I still wasnt able to get an answer. Pepboys vehicle search, unlike most other sites, doesnt allow for a submodel specification. So it doesnt know the vehicle is a sport. Shouldnt be a problem though cause most of the pads say in description if its for a sport brake system or not ... except the pads I want. I have attached pictures of the two pads for sale by EBC on pepboys website. Any idea which one would fit my 2009 G37s sedan. It only specifies AWD or not

.. I am unfortunately thinking neither...

Those won"t work. If you look closer under "Fitment Notes" it lists "Standard Suspension." You have the sport suspension.

According to the EBC website:

EBC Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust
Front kit p/n: DP31823C
Rear kit p/n: DP31824C
See link: EBC Pads
