Good brake combo: Akebono ASP and Centric 125

Just did a brake job on my X and I'm super happy with the outcome. Used Akebono ASP Performance pads and Centric 125 high-carbon rotors and ATE type 200 fluid. Good initial bite when cold but not so much as to cause jerky stops. Getting on the brakes stops FAST when hot or cold. Great pedal feel with easy, linear modulation. Dead silent. Break in was a breeze. No noticable fade during spirited driving on back roads (i don't track the car anyway and am of the opinion that, if you do, you should have seperate pads for that purpose).

Just wanted to give a heads up on a good daily-driver pad and rotor combo for those who like to have some occasional fun.

I've not been liking my Hawk HPS 5.0 pads...they are linear I'll give them that but they lack any type of initial bite and they feel like they fade too quickly even on aggressive street driving. Need to find something new. It is notable though that the pads do not squeal or produce copious amounts of dust.

I have the Hawk pads, too. They don't fade as long as you bed them in properly. I did a poor job before a track event and they faded big-time. They gripped like a vise afterwards.
