do the akembo brakes fit the awd models?? rookie question

All depends on your wheels. If you have the base 17'' rims then no. Upgrade the rims and use the template to determine if aftermarket rims will clear the calipers.

i have the stock g37xs wheels 18" but going to upgrade to different rims after winter

The stock 18" XS wheels will clear the big Akebono brakes. Here's a thread showing all you will need~
