Quality Lower Control Arms
Have anyone heard of Moog parts? Good quality or junk? Looking to replace lower control arms and have no idea which part manufacturers offer quality besides OEM.

HI Everyone -
Whenever I drive over a little bump on the road, my car makes this thump metal sounds. My dealership said my lower control arm needs to replaced. Can anybody confirm the reasoning?
I would really appreciate the feedback.

But as Slarti was alluding to, its a lot more complicated diagnosing suspension clunks/noises than just describing the noise...
you may have to start by replacing/inspecting other front steering/suspension items and it may be easier to start with things like sway bar end links which are cheap to buy/replace
changing the LCA's is the most expensive/ should be the last component to be changed unless there is obvious play in the ball joint/other bushings in the arm and the dealer/mechanic has properly diagnosed it already
probably a good idea to just take it to another shop and get a second opinion

Thanks guys,
I ended up taking my car to a local auto-shop and the mechanic said "it was common on g37's" that was hard for me to believe.
He did a test drive and put the car on the lift said the ball joint was bad and since they don't make them separately, the entire lower control arm needs to be replaced.
He said its going to be 220 for part and 220 for labor + tax, is that acceptable price for new jersey price.?
Now my questions is
1. Do I replace both sides, just like we do with shocks
2. Do I also replace the sway bar end links while at it.
For those who are just reading my post, my G is a daily driver and it has 110K miles and I do some spirited driving at times so at some point in the future somoene might have the same questions and I hope my outcome help you with your issues.

I would replace the arms in pairs, as with any suspension components but its not as critical s replacing say shocks in pairs. If the other ball joint doesn't have any play its probably fine
..the price quoted for both parts sounds reasonable, IIRC I paid about that for brand new OEM LCAs off EBay (shipped from a dealership in upstate newyork)
The labour doesn't sound bad and is more reasonable if you have an AWD car b/c theres more involved than changing the LCA's on a RWD car.
if you are doing both arms labour should be less than double b/c some of the work is redundant especially if its an AWD car
Theres a DIY on here on replacing the LCA's for the RWD cars if it gives you an idea of whats involved
