Another brake recommendation request.

My wife's 2009 G37 Coupe Sport 6MT needs new brakes (Akebono calipers). I have been impressed with the OEM brakes. Initial bite is as expected but have been quite impressed with grip under hard/threshold braking.

(For some back ground, I track my 350Z as an instructor and do my own brake work so I have a little bit of experience with performance brakes)

Having said that.....I'm not looking for performance brakes for her car. I want something that approximates the original OEM pad but doesn't cost as much and is low dust and low noise. I'm not willing to pay $300 for a set of Hawk street pads, etc. Looking for other's experience with decent street pads.

Thanks,

George

No. My experience is with racing pads. I put on whatever junk pads happen to be lying around if I take my Z on the street, which is rare. But I'll look into the Stop Techs.

The Stoptech has two pads out now, the Street & the Sport, the new Sport are the previous Street pads and have strong bite but dust a lot. The new Street pads have less bite, but dust a lot less too, so it would be more like the OEM setup which sounds like a good match for what you're wanting.

I ordered the cheap Centric ceramics. We'll see how they do. About $88 for all four corners.

This is probably a dumb question, but can someone tell me what type of pads are the Nissan OEM pads on these cars? Organic, semi-metallic, or ceramic? Thanks in advance.
