Brake Pedal Clicking
Brake Pedal Clicking
I apologize if this was brought up in another thread already, but recently, I noticed my brake pedal making a light "clicking" sound, like one or two clicks when moderately pressing on it. I was investigating underneath my dash around the pedals and it sounds like it is coming from inside the rubber boot that connects into the firewall. Is this normal? Any idea what may be making that sound? It can actually be quite annoying...
I actually took my car into the dealership for this exact same thing awhile back. They spent a couple of days investigating the brake pedal but it wasn't the pedal at all. It turns out that the spring inside the brake booster will come out of place so that it doesn't compress evenly. This will cause it to bind and cause the noise you hear. If your car is still under warranty they will replace the entire brake booster in the engine bay.
Reviving an old thread because I have this exact concern.
Curious if anyone has worked out a solution to this problem, outside of just replacing the whole brake booster. I read a few other threads where people have just been living with the issue without any real adverse impacts, other than losing their sanity.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
