I recently bought a 2010 Vert and want to lower it but not too low. I had a G35 coupe lowered on 350z Tein HTechs and it gave me the drop I wanted. I have been following threads here since I got the car and have noticed there aren't too many options. Eibach's for the coupe and BC coils. I'm not going to track my car just looking for a nice stance. It's a simi DD, I have a beater but it's not that reliable. Im running 20x10.5 +25 285/30 rear and 20x9 +18 245/30 front.

 

I'd look at the Ksport coilovers for the vert, should work well.

 

Read through the whole cereal2k's build thread - he went through a few different options.
I'm going through a bunch of crap with d2 cos now.
Consensus - verts are heavy as sh*t and require a much stiffer suspension compared to coupes.
Personally, if I had to do it again, I'd probably leave the stock sport suspension. It was already lower than other models and the ride was great with upgraded sways. But at this point I'm committed so going to try to figure it out. Still no guarantee that I'll find a good combo without going nutty spring rates that will ruin the ride completely.

 

@kiseliok what issues are you having with the D2's?

 

Bottom out, bounce, poor ride quality at higher speeds.

 

There is a accessory shop attached to the parts dept at the Infiniti dealership where Im from. They do lifts and drops for that dealer. I have already went to see them and they suggested springs over coils due to ride stiffness and the noise they make. I delayed my decision to do more research. Leaning toward springs and toe/camber bolts now.

 

Subbed for info on the spring setup you end up choosing. I'm in a similar boat as you.

 

The issue with springs is that you are locked into whatever the height those springs offer and if you don't like it - you have to get another set.
The positive is that they are cheaper and easier to replace than full coilovers.

Definitely keep us updated on what you decide to do.

Didn't even know ARK made springs. I've been debating between the BC coilovers ( good reviews & customer service) and H & R Springs (tirerack.com)

 

Has anyone tried Tanabe NF210's for the coupe?

 

Going purely off my coilover spring experience, I would not even think about going lower than 10k front / 9k rear. You'll regret it, unless the roads you drive on are absolutely perfect.

Edit: this might be due to different shocks though.. I'm seeing much softer lowering springs offered everywhere.
I'd go with a stiffer rear option (x, maybe) and progressive spring, similar to oem.

 

I ordered the eibachs today. Getting them installed next week. Didn't find many other options that had been tried. Thought about the Tanabe's since they were a mild drop on the coupe but didn't see where anyone had ever tried them.

 

Yea, you will not see much experimenting with convertibles. Mostly old people drive these who don't care to do anything to it.
