Motordyne vs Hotchkis Sways?

Good day to all.

Looking for input on Motordyne vs Hotchkis sways. I have searched a lot and found a fair amount of love for Hotchkis. However I haven't seen much in the way of feedback on Motordyne?? These would be installed on a '12 sedan. Finally getting around to starting to mod.

Thanks for the help.

One of the reason that so many go with Hotchkis is that they are built in a single piece without any welds and they have grease zerks to lubricate the bushings without having to take anything loose.

You're right to have picked up on how members here have a preference for Hotchkis. However good quality they may be, part of that is that Hotchkis sways can typically be found at retail prices for less than other brands.

If you're modding your DD and just want to reduce body-roll and over-steer with a simple bolt-on, then it's almost irrelevant which brand aftermarket swaybars you target. They're all pretty much the same thing. My advice is to hit up the FS threads, Craigslist and eBay a few times a day. You'll likely find a reasonable deal in no time, but all you'll end up saving is $100 give or take.

Did they always come with frame brackets that have grease fittings? I didn't know that... maybe that's something new. I thought those brackets were an add-on. That's pretty cool.

$409 shipped, on Amazon.

Not sure about always. Mine had them when I installed them 6 months ago. Also, our vendors did better than that Amazon price when I asked them. Only takes a PM or two.

I'm a little jealous of those grease fittings and fancy brackets. Wish I had them for my Eibach swaybars.

However, I don't have a big need, either. My sways don't squeak AFAIK. And once a year I have my mechanic re-grease them when I'm in his shop for whatever else is going on.

You can purchase the bushings and brackets with the grease zerks separately and use them on the sway bars of your choice.

True. At about $150+ for the full set of four. Eeek!

Betty, do you know if the OD on the Hotchkis is the same as other brands? I suppose I could research that directly... but, hey, what do you know?

The bushings can be ordered in different ID to correspond to the bars you have.

Nice!

BB, if you have the info, you could edit that first post for Motordyne.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered a set of Hotchkis. Got them from THMotorsports for $365 including shipping. That was the best I could find. So let the mods begin!!

I'd still like to see more info on the Motordyne's. They seem to go above and beyond with their products over some of the larger companies like Eibach and Hotchkis. I'm sure all are great products, but I've always had a hankering for these smaller "real" engineering companies that engineer products to work instead of engineering to sell.
