Just out of curiosity, every build/install for the akebono bbk says to cut the dust shield and pull back. Has anyone actually just replaced the dust shield with the sport sized one? If so, what's the part number and how much? TIA!

I just noticed a scraping sound coming from the passenger side, not sure what the cause is. Could it be due to the dust shield/backing plate not being trimmed enough?

There's a bit more labor involved w/ a fresh install of those shields, easier just to snip back the current ones.

More than likely that's the culprit or a brake line not routed properly.

Turns out it was a small rock caught beween the backplate and the rotor. I had the workshop guys bend the backplate out further, so there's more space between them - originally 0.2", now increased to 0.7" approx.
