Swift Spring Rates

I am still trying to decide between Swift and Tanabe springs. The main problem I have is I want the ride quality of Tanabe, but the drop of the Swift.

I know with the Fortune 500 Coilovers you can get different spring rates for the Swift Springs. Is it possible to get Swift Sport Springs, just the springs, with different spring rates so the ride is less harsh?

Also anyone know the drop difference, in inches, between the Swift's and the Tanabe's?

I have had both the Tanabe springs and the Swift springs. The Swifts have a much more comfortable ride. By far. Note that I do have the Swift spring application for the sedan on a coupe. And if you pair any new stiffer aftermarket springs with worn OEM struts the ride wont be great.

For spring rates and drop height take a look at the websites for both where the specs are posted.

What struts are recommended for sedans, I am on Swift with 30K old OEM struts.. looking like it's almost time to replace these suckers.. I should have replaced them when i had the springs installed.. sigh.

I can't help with any AWD info because I just don't know. Never looked into it at all as I have RWD.

I wouldn't call 30K miles on OEM struts "old". But whatever it takes to upgrade, man.

Can't say for Tanabe, but my RWD Swifts are as comfortable as OEM. And actually, when I first got them I remember having the distinct impression that they were *more* comfortable, but I was probably being hypersensitive at the time.

For the RWD model springs, I believe both Tanabe and Swifts will give you a droopy rear. But that can be fixed for all of $20 before the install. Or $200, if you do it twice after the fact. (Don't judge me! LOL)

There's a member here who's discussed his AWD drop on Swifts ad nauseum, with some excellent photos: dragion.

I am dropped on Swifts with my AWD and I need to replace my rear struts at least since I can compress them with very little effort and I am at 43k miles. Fronts seems to still be good but I want to replace them but no one in the area had struts.

The ride is still good. The back is a little bouncy but not bad. When hitting the pot holes it is a bit harsher, but I am also running 19" wheels.

That's a good question, there's very little feedback on the Monroes and they have the most applications for our cars AFAIK.

that is a good question as I am buying the KYB's and should be getting them installed in a week or two. On rockauto the KYB's are 10-20 cheaper than Monroe.
